i'm playing majoras mask and everytime it starts to feel like OOT (aka having fun) I have to reset the day for some NPC or scheduled bullshit. baffled why anyone prefers this, it's anti fun busy work.

you need to play it by thinking ahead and knowing what you wanna go for each cycle and also finding ways to be efficient with your time use so you can do different quests in one cycle.

if you play the game and completely ignore one of the core mechanics until it forces itself onto you, because you didn't properly take it into consideration, then yeah, of course it feels distracting.

you cant recreate a product of its time. the original devs have changed as people and probably don't work at the company anymore, the company's priorities have changed and the hardware restrictions are nonexistent.
