That's not how it works, all the components that make SteamOS work are also available on other linux distros.
Valve doesn't want to do a public release because they want to certify that PCs sold with the SteamOS branding aren't cheaply made pieces of shit.

What do you use? Have you made an effort to actually give the alternatives a try? Unless you're an adobecuck it should be fairly painless.
If you're using CSP you can just run it on wine, and your experience might actually be better if you're using a wacom tablet since the required drivers are included in the linux kernel.
