What is the absolute CLOSEST mmorpg that we have currently (for PC) that plays like Tera? I know the console servers are still up but I play on PC and I've had the itch to play this shit for months.

Every MMORPG is just XIV/WoWslop clones these days and I'm tired of that shit. I want more action/dodge/block shit like Tera did. Please tell me there's at least one "big" one out there still worth playing that captures the exact gameplay style?

Private servers are volatile as fuck and not worth investing time into. They can shut down at the drop of a hat for whatever reason and I've had private servers do FULL character wipes for no reason.

I haven't played Guild Wars 2 in years, but there's a mod that allows you to use TERA-like controls. I used it to play with a controller and it worked fairly decently.

Guild Wars 2 is fucking dogshit compared to TERA, it's not action based at all, it's just tab targeting but dumbed the fuck down.

That is the same as any online game. For the few that have stood the test of time dozens more have failed with all progress lost with them. That's just the gamble you have to take if you want to play a game on someone else's server.

Depends largely on what region you're from, what region you're willing to play on, and what patch you're aiming to play on (typically pre or post apex).

NA
Starscape - Servers are in California, Patch 100
TERA Classic - Servers in Canada, Patch 32, it's mostly vanilla but some custom content has been developed

EU
Arborea - France, Patch 100, Very customized and contains server-exclusive content not found in vanilla
Agaia - Germany, Patch 100, Heavily customized

Be mindful, one of the EU servers I believe is made up of the remnants of the Menma's TERA dev team, so a spiritual successor. (I THINK it's Arborea but don't quote me on that.)
MT was so heavily monetized that it got shut down via a C&D from Bluehole not so long ago.

For starscapefags...how's the DPS rankings looking like? I kinda want to play reaper and apparently reaper and valkyrie (used to be) amazing DPS for dungeons and raids. I also recall berserker being shit on a lot but this was ages ago and not a private server.

Give me the skinny on how things are now a days DPS wise

Tera was always just a more limited Blade&Soul in terms of gameplay. It had a console release though, which made it more popular back then in the west. 1 shutdown and the other is getting slaughtered by splitting the team on 5 games and putting it on maintenance mode from what i heard.

I'd say it's less of a concern if the private server offers an instant max level scroll. I guess you only save a few hours leveling but it helps to catch up to where your progress was previously.
