I agree games are taking too long to make nowadays. Naughty dog hasn't released any games whatsoever since last of us 2 and it's probably because they're spending the entire time making it look good. Shit like that is common place in the vidya industry

In other news, no I would never buy a game made using generative AI. No game with generative AI can even be copyrighted as far as I know, so Nintendo cannot even sell it or claim the exclusive rights to it. And no, I don't think the AI companies should be allowed to sell you the rights to games you make with AI either, it's literally a fucking computer making your game for you, it should be public domain if you do that.
Why the FUCK does Nintendo expect me to spend $100 for something they made using AI? I may as well just fucking generate my own fucking game then for $0 it would probably be better anyway.
I think it's completely fine if somebody makes a game with AI as long as it is free to play and they do not claim ownership of it or copyright strike people for sharing it. And I am tired of the industry fucking everybody over, they are getting lazier and more incompetent and yet at the same time they're charging US more and more eventually it will reach the level where developers put 0 effort into games and charge $200 for each game lol.

All the laws in the last 50 years were created to screw independents and benefit companies. I'm sure they are gonna rewrite the law so we can't use AI to make games but only they can, seems like the kind of thing that would happen considering the trend of big companies dominating independents recently.
>You can only use 3 browsers owned by big companies now (used to be a free thing anybody could make)
>There's like 4 big restaurants and you can't make your own
>There's literally like two markets where you can buy shit
Lol.

It's really over, isn't it?
It will only get worse from here on out. This is just the beginning of the end. Soon, laziness will take over, gamedevs will slash their jobs and just use prompts to generate models and other artwork for their games. They will likely even use AI for voice acting with just a human touching up mistakes.

It will wash over everything like a tsunami, the few games being made without using generative AI will be washed over by a sea of slop. We can't ever go back, the golden age is fucking over, I mean it has been for a while now but it's now final and there's no returning.

It's over.

Real art will not be drowned out by slop because it's so different fundamentally. The real problem is that the sloppifying of modern society will cause future generations to be much dumber and less artistic, which in turn will mean that less new art will be made.
