I played pretty much every CRPG the past year before this one because I thought it would ruin most of them if I played DOS 2 first.
I played all the staples, NWN , BG, Arcanum, TOEE,Fallout,Underrail,WOTR,Kingmaker,Kotor,VTMB etc etc
This game is fucking incredible. Peak CRPG

you can't be serious, it's 10 times more intuitive than any D&D system

Just remember to always level warfare for physical damage, even if you're not planning on a melee build. Even the damage to undead from healing is boosted by warfare.

I usually only play the first area for a few hours before either starting a new save or putting the game down for a few months.
Only made it past the second area once, the pirate ship is kind of cool I guess but the game peaks in the first town
