Anyway I replayed FE11 recently. I didn't warpskip this time but abused a bunch of other gamebreaking things instead. It's a pretty janky game and I was surprised to see how few enemies you actually face over the course of the game, and some of the new mechanics don't really mesh with the classic design, but it's enjoyable in its own way.

Maybe janky wasn't the right word. Overall I feel like FE11 doesn't offer the type of classic tactics that FE1 and FE3 book 1 had, and instead relies heavily on new mechanics. Which is ironic because back in the day people used to criticize FE11 for being "too faithful" of a remake. I'll try to describe some of the things I find weird.

>You can freely reclass units within their class set. The most notable use of this is to make certain characters into generals, and take advantage of their insane growths to turn into invincible juggernauts. Also this means that the good units are good at everything and the bad units are bad at everything; there's no need to train a unit of a certain class, because you can swap a better unit to fill that role.
>You can forge weapons. The most common use is to add might and hit to weapons that are super effective against certain enemy types, e.g. Caeda's wing spear can OHKO cavalry and armors after forging.
>The game gives you ballista units with 10 range so you can snipe enemies from outside of their attack range. And they don't even start moving after getting hit, so you can continually shoot until they die.
>You're probably used to this if you've played newer games, but this game introduced weapon rank bonuses which are different for different weapons. These bonuses disappear when at a weapon triangle disadvantage, and there is also a damage bonus/penalty and hit/avoid that depends on weapon rank. While the mechanics do make sense, I feel like they're unnecessarily complex for a game like fire emblem, which was renowned for its simplicity. Also the introduction of the weapon triangle into the game feels very unbalanced because you mostly fight axe enemies early on and face a ton of lance enemies as the game goes on.

I doubt you'll hate it, but don't expect too much out of it

FE3 is very playable. While it does make changes to FE1 (removing a few maps and characters), you still get the same general experience and I quite like the addition of the dismounting mechanic. The main downside is that it's VERY easy. And although the game isn't anywhere near as cumbersome as FE1 I do appreciate the convenient features in FE11. E.g. being able to press a button to view all enemy ranges, being able to merge weapons that were running low on durability, fast character movement and skippable enemy phases, even the two-screen display to see character stats and stuff is really nice.

Also something I forgot to mention about FE11 is that it has some extra gaiden chapters that are only obtained if virtually all of the recruitable characters are dead. If you play FE11 I highly recommend you ignore the existence of these chapters. The chapters aren't fun and going out of your way to suicide ~50 characters is also not fun, especially on your first playthrough. Some people have an uncontrollable compulsion to play these gaiden chapters and it ruins the game for them.

See thats my problem with her. You COULD use byleth on her, but she cant take advantage of the speed nor luck he gives. Also you have units like celine who are just begging for byleth. Specifically because shes very fast and can take advantage of the speed bonus byleth gives; also she can easily get a %100 hit rate because divine pulse and 38 luck.
Also sage hortensia or anna is completely superior with sage + byleth specifically because you can get a fuck off thoron + speed so a 5 range bolg that can double + insane luck growth on both of them so possible to get a %92-94 hit rate.

Its pretty easy to start every map with up to +7 speed later on and then your emblem can push that up to +12 depending on choice. Combine that with stuff like Corrin Hex or Byleth Rallies and you can make anyone double.

No, build +4 is objectively superior to speed +4 in the early to mid game. Late game build+ is only superior on units like citrinne who only get 5 bld growth rates. Build+ and speed+ or speedtaker combined with a speedy emblem like lyn or lucina on the other hand. Now you have an extremely optimized and cheap combo.

You can use both your own characters, unplayable ally characters, and some bosses, and you just fuck around leveling up, fighting random collections of enemies for random drops, and could reset your units to 20/1 or even 1/1 and start over when you got bored or maxed everyone out.

What it really depends on is which emblem you have to give her. Here are a few sample builds:

The extra slot for Lyn can be anything. Canter? More SPD? Momentum? Anything. If you happen to have no one better for him, MK Citrinne can work with Sigurd since she likes the free BLD boost. It may also be worth considering Sage with Byleth for Thyrsus memes (3-range Elsurge is neato).

There are only two times where you'd ever use Bld+.
1. In combination with Spd+.
2. You're consistently ramming the bonus speed cap on that character and are using a weapon where you absolutely need the extra AS.
In every other instance, +speed is better because its true AS vs conditional. You also should be focusing more on reaching thresholds instead of biggest number.

Also, Canter is for all intents and purposes giving a pair of boots on every unit in most instances. If you can't see how much flexibility that gives you, then we have a problem.

They do excel at some niches but I wouldn't go that far. Their personal growth rates are all zero, so their stats are worse than trained units. Especially their luck stats, which means they can't take a hit (except the generals). The main advantage is that they come promoted after level 15, and you can kill off most of your team members early to raise your average level and get access to them before you can get master seals.
