He didn't really change the industry. His big "revolutionary" thing was having a game focus more on cinematics. Which many other games were trying to do around the same time. Other games did it earlier on PC and PS1. Heck, you can even say some NES games did it before Metal Gear on NES.

Everything else he's done hasn't really spread across the industry. Which you should be happy about. That means Kojima's stuff remains unique to him. Rather than being watered down through company trends.

Seriously, how does he do it?
How is one of the most creative minds in video gaming?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
