With PC you get all the third party games, all the Sony games, all the Microsoft games and basically everything other than Nintendo. With Nintendo you get, Nintendo games. It's that simple, just get an overpowered pc, a Deck or other handheld pc and then a Switch 2. And you are completely set for the next 8 years of gaming.

Seriously Nintendo and Valve are like the twin towers holding up all of gaming at this point. The full implications of how massive their victory is probably won't fully be felt until the next decade. And they both clearly take inspiration from each other, Valve made the Deck partially inspired by the Switch, Switch 2 has mouse functionality to help port PC games and Nintendo seems to be copying Valves form of long term storefronts over multiple generations.

I specifically did not list a PS5 or Xbox. And the Steam Deck or other handheld pc is really optional, main thing is to have a gaming pc and a Switch 2.

Having a Deck is cool because you can play the same library of games on PC either through installing them on or streaming if you're at home. Over Wifi 6 there is basically no input lag with a solid setup.

It has 3 GotY nominees just this year (Mario Kart, DK Bananza and Metroid Prime 4) and the greatest exclusive library ever from Switch 1, with almost every single game running better now.

I pretty much only game on Switch (now Switch 2) since there are no incentives for me to bother on PC besides the few rare ports of third-parties that skipped Nintendo in the last few years, like Armored Core 6 or Earth Defense Force 6.
I even expect the Switch 2 to get shit like Stronghold Crusader or the Dawn of War Remastered due of the joycon mice, which could reinvigorate my interest in those games (used to play those a lot a long time ago).

Emulators are great for preservation, but I rarely consider them a bona fide project to compete with the current gen. Even Switch emulation was very janky for new releases until its penultimate 2 years.

Yeah sure, you gotta have at least a few exclusives for your new console, but I'm not sure if they'd skip their customer base that's 30 times bigger when making a new mario or zelda. That's not how it goes. Switch 2, 3 million potential buyers for a game + incentivising people to get the system. Switch 1, 120 million potential buyers but no system. Than you run the profit margins of the system sales with a mix of market analysis of how many people would finalise a purchase, compare it to the dev costs and pick whatever makes the investors the hardest when showing it in a powerpoint.
Could be either, but competely ditching the currently biggest userbase seems like a bad decision until the switch 2 cought up another 30 million.

Valve is already doing this, their Switch 2 is going to use Xbox's chip and it's going to be cheaper than Xbox using the same chip, lmao. Doesn't matter what Sony can really do, both Microsoft and Sony are done and the only direction they can go is third parties for Nintendo and Valve. Microsoft's Xbox on a chip strategy will fail. It didn't work with the 3DO, it didn't work with the Steam Machines, and it won't work with Xbox. OEMs for gaming just doesn't work.

I agree with you. Plus with a deck, you can bypass Nintendo's awful NSO system for classic vidya and just emulate everything yourself (up to Switch 1). Then my Switch 2, when I get it one day, can be focused entirely on its native games.
