Possibly. In my opinion, I think the fact that RE7 was so interested in the theme of family and tragedies involving families could also be a hint for where RE9 is going. RE9 is being directed by the same guy who directed RE7 (Nishitani). Grace will be dealing with having lost her mother so it would be fitting to pit her against Lisa as a prominent enemy in the game

And that leads me to my other theory which is that the monster isn't Lisa but is actually a mutated Alyssa Ashcroft

It's either a mutated suspended or Alyssa as a new standard of bioweapon. Seems like Grace was going to be next but the procedure was interrupted for some reason. There were missing people posters so this is probably an ongoing thing with the new antagonists.

what was the reasoning behind an immortal monster woman living in a hut a couple hundred metres from the mansion and no one noticed? Or did the researchers just let her hang out there? Did she attack them or not?
Haven't played remake in ages but isn't there a zombie on the path to Lisa's shack, and a guardhouse nearby?

The wrist shackles, hair and body structure don't really match. There is the growl and that she's local.

This one seems more slender and creepy, but then it's also described as both stocky and aggressive in the demo so I have no idea. Lisa in RE1 was able to leap pretty far.

Considering the mansion where she died was in the Arklay mountains and not in Racoon city I doubt it but crapcum have been pretty shit recently so you never know.

Reminder that NEST 2 is still intact.

I started playing RE1 original bros.

Even if Lisa managed to survive the mansion going boom (Which I admit could be possible for her), I doubt she would've survived nuclear blasts.
