>The Switch 2 isn't even a replacement for the Switch 1 yet
I'd disagree. There's ton of good stuff going for Switch 2. Granted, you'll probably get most fun out of it (currently) playing Switch 1 titles with the performance boost. But the hardware is more fun, it's better, the joycon gimmick is better (magnets > rails). Digital Foundry said that the screen is slightly more laggier than OLED screen, I can't comment on that because I've mostly been playing on dock mode (didn't want to take risks with the screen until protector arrived this week). I got to play some games on handheld this week, only complain I have is ergo is not the best and some grips (dbrand?) could be nice to have, but the screen thing is not something I noticed when playing Switch (maybe game didn't have fast enough action, dunno).
Also unlike Deck, Switch has better hybrid setup, meaning you can take it to your friends place and within seconds you're playing your entire game library at a friend's TV. For that reason alone I feel much more comfortable investing money on Switch library than on Steam library, cause Steam games more than likely are games you'll be playing alone.
