More like you spend 5 hours setting it up, then tweak it your setup every week for about an hour, install some box art, change system settings, see which systems can run with shaders, run into an error with Retroarch saving settings, play 5 minutes of SNES Mario Kart, try a different theme, install a new UI, buy a new handheld with analog sticks.

Roms are illegal. Most chinese companies sell those with roms installed so OP is probably breaking the law.

Horizontal is way more comfortable

I love my changhelds, but personally Id recommend something bigger.
And maybe something with a horizontal layout.
All for ergonomics sake.

The original gameboy has never been beaten in ergonomics. It's the perfect thickness and the buttons are the perfect size to be comfortable to hold and use for hours on end. I don't understand why nobody has tried to replicate it in the modern era. Every other handheld I've ever used makes your hands cramp up after less than an hour of use, including everything Nintendo has made since the original gameboy.

Is the Gameboy screen smaller than the Gameboy Sp? Even compared to the ds that screen was tiny

The screen size is exactly how big it needs to be for the games designed for it. The sprites in gameboy games were huge because they were meant to be seen on a tiny screen.

what's the point of a slider in a dedicated handheld? are you ever going to use it without the gamepad? does it have a touch screen?
it feels like a clamshell just makes more sense. at least it protects the screen
Anonymous No.713436661 [Report]
>>713436429
It looks too big and heavy
Anonymous No.713436670 [Report]
>>713436573
That's what makes it so ergonomic. If you want 4 buttons you're going to have to make a handheld even bigger than the gameboy if you want it to be comfortable to hold and not cramp up your hands.

Enjoy your shitty plastic toy.
Anonymous No.713436787 [Report]

It does have a touch screen. The point is that I like the slide, it's cool. I love my PSP Go. Also, I would never put an unprotected handheld in my pocket, all of my handhelds have cases to protect them, so a clamshell is pointless.

I bought this, but I'm really beginning to hate Android. It's way too touch screen centric.

the center part can get really hot I understand why they didnt put much stuff there.
but the buttons couldve been bigger. d-pad and analogs are great as they are.

install a frontend like daijisho. then it kinda works like the ps3 menu.

this doesn't really help when emulators like aethersx2 can't be navigated using the controller
Anonymous No.713437639 [Report]
>>713437482
thats up to the emulator devs and can be shitty, yeah.
I set up as much as I could from my PC remotely with anydesk and now I just boot into the games from the frontend.
overall setup across all emulators was actually demonic but now its all fine.

Got these some months back. They became my favorite way to play SHMUPs and Super Metroid.
I'm not a fan of the Pandora Box in the machine on thw right, so I'll eventually replace it with a Raspberry Pi, since the case is nice and spaceous.

You can get many of these devices without a game card. That's what I did when I bought mine.

It's coming from China via a courier that I've never heard of, with no expected delivery date given. Sounds like three weeks is pretty typical for orders coming from Anbernic directly.
