Hey you, yes you. You're hired. We're going on an adventure. We leave the tavern at first light.

You cant convince me DD2 wouldn't have been more fun, sold better and kept its player count longer if it had optional COOP like this. Killing the same 5 enemies over and over just woulda been more fun with buddies, it would've sold better as coop has massive FOMO pull, and pawn only purists would be happy as the increased sales mean it would be far more likely to get free content updates and probably a DLC announced by now - which benefit all players and the game after the coop crowd have already moved on.

Instead we've just got a dead game and sadness over its untapped potential... again.

Have you never experienced the great outdoors just after sunrise, when you can already feel the gentle heat and the sound of birds but there's not another soul awake and out? it's quite magical.

Anyway if you're not up by dawn you're getting brinned.

>pawns are hired from the rift as normal
>players are hired in taverns
>players wanting to be hired send a copy of themselves to other players worlds (like putting down your summon sign in souls)
>the copy of the players character appears in the host players tavern like a normal NPC
>if hired you load into the hosts game and join them in the tavern
>set off together on an adventure once the host finishes picking the party members
>bonus points if you can sit down at tables get temporary buffs by ording a round or meal
>extra bonus points if camping is moved to real-time instead of the instanced world that stops time & enemies, and can be done anywhere instead of fixed spots as long as there's enough room for the tents etc

Could actually be quite comfy

I did this quest as the last thing before the final boss and then Reynard was my beloved in the end. Needless to say I was not bemused.

They've already annouced what they're showing and DD2 isn't one of them, but I'm still fully ready & willing to be hurt again when the DLC isn't there.

I like to use the daggers there though.

These two and the church agent gave a sense of there being a wider world of countries. That feeling is kinda lost in DD2 despite there being two countries in the game, which says a lot about how unfinished & pointless battahl feels.

You can't fix a game with patches when it fundamentally needed an extra year of dev time that Capcom didn't give it to push it to meet shareholder expectations. The executives chose the stock price over integrity of releasing good games no matter what it takes.

Doubt it. MH Wilds is due to get its second title update after that showcase. At the very least they wouldn't shadow drop a DLC for another game on the same conference. There's a 0.0001% chance they'll say DD2 will get a DLC at some point in the future at the showcase but it's not coming any time soon.
