I've noticed that the anti-Nintendo rhetoric on my youtube feed has gone into overdrive since the Direct. It's a lot of the same old, same old - youtubers making mountains out of molehills like muh $80 for MKW still, the banning of online on Switches that are used for nefarious purposes and claiming it totally bricks the system, game key cards selling horribly and how doom and gloom it is for third parties that choose to go that route. It all just seems really suspicious.

Only problem with key cards is in a possible future like 30 years in the future someone nukes Nintendo servers and we aren't able to download the games anymore. You can resell key cards like any physical game and they will work downloading the game for you even without an account and even japanese games without having to deal with japanese eShop. For example bravely default has no censorship in the japanese version. It's a pain to buy from the eShop because of credit card drama but you can buy the key card from playasia and it will just download the game for you, as simple as that. Having said all that I hate key cards and wish only indie game used them lol.
