As I understand it they tend to avoid film until they retire because it eats up too much of their schedule and they do train hard for each Basho. They might be able to slot him in if he is just a side character. Have him show up in a few scenes, give it a week or two to film his big fight scene, and then get him back in the Dohyo.
Ideally The White Wolf would play the role of E. Honda because the character of Honda is based on Chiyonofuji, but he died almost 10 years ago and he was already dusty by then.
