Why are spiders the only bugs that became staple enemies in video games?
>>713455414Ants are less stigmatized since they're seen as workers instead of predators.
>>713455537The first thing I notice in this webm is the blades of grass swaying in the distance, indicating the presence of a spider. Or at least something large.
>>713455267 (OP)Spodes are scary without being actually scary. The normie is thus emboldened and feels heroic fighting spiders without any real danger of being spooked or uncomfortable. If they made spider monsters that looked and behaved like picrel everyone would be pissing, shitting and cumming blood on reddit about it. There would probably also be lawsuits.
>>713455267 (OP)Bees and wasps used to be used more but I feel like they stopped being used when graphics turned realistic.
because they're spooky like wolves and ghosts
>>713455537they can be quite dangerous when led by an evil master mind
also... what game is that on your picrel?
>>713455267 (OP)Because spiders look creepy as fuck, especially when they move quickly
>>713456201AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH AAAHHHHH HOLY SHIT AHHH AHHHH NO NO AHHHHH
>>713455267 (OP)Because spiders are literally aliens.
>>713455267 (OP)because we've evolved to fear them
>>713456601even a bug can wipe its ass. why cant an indian
>>713455267 (OP)>Why are spiders the only bugsthey are arachnids, not bugs
>>713455267 (OP)A spider large enough to eat tigers is one of the most terrifying things many could possibly imagine.
No other living thing would be as insurmountably overpowering as a giant Spider. Even an elephant would fucked.
>>713455824What the hell is this creature
>>713456752there are 3 things, mammals, lizards and bugs
shrimps is bugs
>>713456768a giant cockroach would have the same acceleration as a bullet train, but only if you believe in the science of Baki
>>713456883gotta be lizards i reckon
>>713455537Mantis are apex predators, yet people think they are funny, same for ladybugs.
>>713457237mantids and nips go hand in hand ya know
I feel like there's a more common bug type enemy in games, but now that I think about it I'm not sure what type of bugs are they actually, big beetles maybe? potato beetles? like the most generic type of bug enemy that you can think about, that flies around and snaps at you
We need more diversity in spider enemies
>>713457660Holy shit getting killed by a spider has got to be one of the top 5 worst ways to die.
>>713455801You can see something going that way right before the grass sways.
>>713458229I think when you are that small the venom either kills you outright or paralyzes you to the point you are functionally dead anyway. Get nabbed by a mantis and itโll just start munching on you while you flail around helplessly.
>>713458229Getting caught would suck but after an hour of internal liquidation you'd probably feel nothing. I imagine it's faster for bugs.
>>713458819what if getting liquidated was like that one comic where the girl is just getting pure dopamine injected into her veins for the rest of her life
>>713458639>Get nabbed by a mantis and itโll just start munching on you while you flail around helplesslyMy little brother showed me a vid of that happening to a lizard the first time I took shrooms. The lizard was massive in comparison but the mantis just grabbed it and began eating its jaw. Nightmare stuff. Same with grizzlies.
>>713458229>>713458819>>713459139You'd feel nothing. Spider venom has paralytic and anesthetic chemicals. You'd feel intense pain, then go numb while at worst feeling a lot of nausea and fear. That's assuming it doesn't rip your head off.
