Storm 2 and 3 are actually pretty decent at covering the main stuff, for a video game at least. Storm 1 is not and Storm 4 drops the ball IMO.
It's not as good as watching the anime, though I'd use some guide or something to skip all the filler

The first I'm pretty sure you can only actually move around the village whereas 2 and 3 you move around the world. I guess with the larger scale they found it too much effort to do it properly

anime is worth watching (with fillers skipped) until the end of pain arc
afterwards just play Strom 3 and 4's story modes to warp up the series.
Anime gets way too tedious after the pain arc. Even if you skip filler eps, the canon eps are filled with air time stretching padding, and keep in mind that the manga in these parts already suffered from a slowish pace.
