You kind of have to take it in the contest of boss progression.
1. Armos: Easy
2. Lanmola: Easy
3. Moldorm: Annoying, but can't actually kill you.
4. Agahnim: You either know the gimmick or you don't. Easy
5. Helmasaur King: First jump in boss damage. Also, knowing whether or not you're actually damaging the mask filters people. Understanably hard for first-time players. Easy on replays.
6. Arrghus: Easy
7. Mothula: floor gimmick that no other boss has. Hilariously, letting the spikes hit you is a good thing. Easy, but fags will think otherwise.
8. Blind: Getting shot at from multiple directions is daunting. Like Helmasaur, understandably hard for first-time players. Easy on replays.
9. Kholdstare: Another jump in boss damage, but you need to be a retard to even get hit. Easy.
10. Vitreous: Get bullied by many eyes. The first boss I wouldn't call easy (it still is).
11. Trinexx: You did pack some magic potion, right? RIGHT? Just kidding, you don't need it if you don't suck. Getting caught off guard by the head lunging at you is something that really only works once. Mid. Addendum: Requires a weapon that up until this point was entirely optional to get.
12. Agahnim x3: Dies 3 times faster. Easy.
13. Ganon: Actually kind of tough. Kind of. Git gud.

Arrghus isn't easy, definitely a big spike compared to the other bosses.

Kholdstare is definitely not "need to be a retard to not get hit" when there is three massive hazards as well as constantly falling ice that creates four hazards each time. It's one of the bosses with the most hazards at once.

Vitreous is actually extremely easy because you can just stand in one place and mash sword. You don't even need to mash it fast, even just like 5-6Hz is enough to never get hit a single time. Same for the large eye, he just gets stuck in a loop. Fight is a joke aside from maybe taking you by surprise the first time.

Still though, the bosses aren't really hard in general as long as you have at least one potion and your sword isn't behind on upgrades. Even with just one potion, you can usually just bruteforce all of them.

Rocket Knight, Contra Hard Corps, Revenge of Shinobi are all great games (beat them all with no deaths), but I would still take LttP over them. Streets of Rage 2 is the only Genesis game that I would put on the same tier as LttP.

Overworld is the only shitty part, there are a bunch of weird spots where you can only progress and the rest of it is a maze with deadends in disguise. Was fixed entirely with A Link Between Worlds. Dungeons, worldbuilding, bosses, and puzzles are all kino though. Holds up.

T.played the GBA port when I was younger than 10, that version is much easier though

I have hated this game since the first time I played it in 1996. I hate the overworld, I hate the lantern shit they kept using because they were oh-so-impressed with the technology, and I hate the railroading. Link's Awakening is a much more linear, rudimentary game, but I always found it to be a more satisfying experience. The Oracle games are both superior.

I just finished playing it again, actually. I was referring to the dark rooms they throw all over the place in the first half of the game, they're irritating as fuck. And you have a point, I don't really know why it sticks in my craw so bad when I like other linear Zeldas. There's just something about the game that doesn't gel with me, and it never has.

I'm a millennial and always thought lttp was overrated dog shit, everyone over 40 could not stop jerking off to that game and it always felt like they were worshipping pacman or pong and treating it like it was holy because it was mind-blowing to their 10 year old self. This is true of basically all the sacred cows of the retro pre 3d era, even when they are given away for free nobody can be bothered to play any of them without save scumming.

It's weird to finally realise that the top 100 games of all time is just a battle over childhood nostalgia and whoever is in their 20s or 30s at the time of writing in is control over the narrative. They are talking about dark world portals and the awful routes that you have to take to travel the overworld map to get to each new dungeon in the second half of the game. The last part of the game with an interesting overworld is the first trip into the dark world between hyrule castle tower and palace of darkness, but they still make you keep doing it for the next 7 dungeons anyway. The worst part of all is darkworld death mountain trying to be this complex final climb at the very end of the game and it really ends up being a compeltely skippable mess because the entrance to TR is in light world death mountain with a portal unlocked by one of the medallions.
