Is it any good? I remember it being discussed at release and being seen as alright but I have hardly heard about it since.

It has some good moments and characters, but it's mostly boring

"exploring" with that movement is ass but the parts where you just fight in those dungeons are alright once you learn how to do cool shit. also don't use any items, they make the game impossible to ever lose.

It's without a doubt the most mediocre Final Fantasy game, all the others have variations of great and shit moments, XV is just mid. Final boss fight/s are, boring.

If you care about lore they broke it up over multiple forms of media to get the full picture.

Its a solidly bland 8/10 that's most notable trait is its place as the last FF game to come out while the series had respect and clout.
To which it did nothing to fix nor really harm, just to continue letting the series fade out of relavance.
