As much as Kojima is known as the "genius behind MGS", a lot of the popular contributions to the saga were made by people of the staff. The MGS2 documentary has Kojima and some of the staff talking about the notebook of ideas, they add what they consider cool and what they would like to see in the game. I feel as the position of Kojima as a super star increased, the input of his team diminished.
