If you're just in it for the story stuff and singleplayer events then you're fine you can coast off of maxed SRs and welfares and non maxed SSR supports and do fine, and stadium pvp is a joke.
Chanmi, the real PvP event requires you to have properly built horses and tends to be filled with whales in the higher brackets so you want your maxed out SSR support cards. You can use rainbow crystals to uncap cards for free but it's an extreme timegate as you get them like every 4-6 months or something so the easiest way to max out cards is either save up and get lucky or whale.
League of Heroes is a ladder climbing event so you want good horse girls for that event, they don't need to be as good compared to Chanmi but if you want to hit at least platinum ranking to maximize your rewards you still need at least decently built horsegirls.

I really like to know what people see in S3. For me it's the least enjoyable season, even below S1.
S2 is just so tight with its themes and characters, but S3 feels all over the shop in comparison. Kitasan is paired with Diamond despite the fact they only ever raced together like, once? So despite the fact they're meant to be besties, their relationship never feels as well developed as the one between Teio and Makween.
I guess the point of S3 is its a highlight reel of Kitasan's career? But she never feels like a particularly compelling protagonist, despite a cute design. I mean, this is a horse at the top of her game, getting a series of wins Special Week and Teio would die for, but one loss and she totally crashes out.
