I set the left track pad as a radial wheel with the number row plus a few specific commands.
Holding down the start/select buttons quick saves/loads respectively. I do this for pretty much any game with QS/QL commands.
I assign inventory, char sheets, spell books, etc. to the face buttons. and a lot of my more used actions are mapped to the back buttons. Rarely used commands get mapped to clicking the analog sticks or shit like that.
You can map individual spells to keys in-game, and map those to whatever you want, so getting granular for your own play style is no problem, and you can just map things differently as you go until it's exactly what you want.
Biggest con playing BG2 is the screen size and dialogue box, but changing font size and adjusting the window size to your liking is easy enough.
