This doesn't suddenly mean the PlayStation fanatics are any more tolerable than they always have been, but rather that we now know that the Nintendo fanatics can and have proven to be far worse in willingly taking it up the ass from their favorite brand at all costs and demanding others do it too. It's pathetic and depressing, but they just happened to show who they really are after years of nobody caring about them.
I still think if the Switch 2 were anything more than a Switch Pro and actually did something interesting people wouldn't be so hard on Nintendo and their fanboys. The difference here is that after years of claiming to not affiliate with the Xbox/PlayStation/PC game of being the same thing as last time but just bit better graphics, they are not only OK with it, but they are OK with everything Nintendo is doing business wise and see no issue with anything is doing there either. It's as if they treat Nintendo as the arbiter of what is and isn't acceptable in the industry and they admittedly haven't had that "Nintendo quality" feel to them for many years now.
If their fans learned to calm down and call things as they were like they had been doing with everyone else, it would have been a problem. But they just showed they will defend Nintendo to the death if need be regardless of what they do and it has turned a lot of people off from them. Myself included.
