I genuinely don’t understand all the hate this site gets. It’s a fun way to catalog your backlog, make fun lists, keep track of when you beat games and how low it took you to beat them, and you can write a review if you want to. I actually did keep track of all this in a txt file before creating my account and it wasn’t nearly as fun or engaging. It’s not even the social aspect of it either, just way more interesting to me. With that said, there are absolutely like farm accounts that just follow spray hundreds of accounts in order to get followers back. Also lots of fake reviews that aren’t even reviews or it’s clear the person never actually played the game. Other than that, it’s a fun place to track your /v/ backlog.

I have an .xlsx with 2 sheets. One is my log and the 2nd sheet is where I have comfy data charts about how much games I have play in 20XX, which platform is the one that I played the most and which genre and developer I played the most too.

I recently started using this. I just like being able to filter my collection or games I've played by hour, system, rating or whatever. Before that it was Backloggery, and before that it was Raptr. You don't have to use the social features, but if you prefer typing in a notepad or something else locally that's fine. Gotta be honest, I'm scratching my head at some of the games here, I don't know how I managed to play some of these for so long as a kid. i decided to use it since i didn't feel like using a spreadsheet, i'm actually autistic, and wanted something to look back on and remember what I played. animefags, readers, and movie fans get multiple sites that do the same thing so gamers can have one too. i don't use the social features since it's mostly the clique on the backloggd discord server liking each other's posts and no one else's.

it's just a free site that does what you could do with a spreadsheet or a database server. you could learn a spreadsheet software to get all of the stats and reports that backloggd gets you and even more. you could even just use a text document if all you want are lists.
