This is why I thank the Sonic Movies for telling Sega that it is worth investing in Sonic in all forms of media and they need quality assurance more than ever across these forms.

That's only a problem because Blaze has to be a recurring character in the main cast, when her archetype is literally of an endgame character far into the closure of Sonic's arc, think Arwen in Lotr or Neytiri in Avatar, the stories END.

Blaze is in narrative purgatory, because the themes of her lore all deal with cosmic scale shit like ancient prophecies between her and Sonic, the merging of dimensions, the will of the emeralds and the power of the stars, this is literally endgame stuff far into the main plot of the series.

Making her Silver's mentor lowers down the narrative stakes and lowers the focus she takes from the stories, because this kind of character is meant to have a closure that is basically way to the ending of Sonic's arc.
