They didn't. Stealth tech just became easier to implement and more versatile. The F-35 is a stealth fighter. So is the F-22. It doesn't need to be it's own dedicated thing anymore because the technology evolved.

At a certain point the stealth outpaced the detection by a large enough margin that it was largely unneeded.
The USA just diversified its portfolio. They have a stealth scouting aircraft, a stealth bomber, a stealth multirole, and a stealth fighter.
Until some new tech advances detection or outmaneuvers one of those, there is no need to reinvent the wheel.

The SU-57 is essentially fictional. Russia can't actually afford to manufacture the things they claim to have. As we've seen with Ukraine, their forces ran out of BTR'S, tanks, AK-12's, etc years ago and are down to Mosin's, AK-47's, and welding iron plates to civilian trucks.

just build your secret shit 50+m underground. and as we saw recently when you have to fly these things across the world it takes a shitload of logistics to refuel them and when you march your surface fleet into the area and tell every airbase in the region to get their shit off the runway in anticipation of retaliation stealth is pretty much a moot point.

The stealth is so you can fly over air defenses, not so no one ever knows where you're deploying. If the enemy can't lock you then it doesn't matter if they know you're coming.

>or if there was nothing aside from some crashed things.
my brain tells me aliens would have 0 reason to actually come to earth personally (unless they knew some extraordinary techniques to allow them to go through space faster)

but a lot of the anecdotes of that time hint (or outright state) that there were bodies recovered, and you have david grusch who actually does seem legitimate claiming "biologics" have been recovered. it's definitely odd.

Everyone knows Earth is actually a tourist trap for aliens traveling the Cosmic Highway, thats why there are so many unique alien one off encounters but loads of Grays and Reptiloid sightings (the Grays are groundskeepers, the Reptiloids are upper management). They come out of the Hexagon storm on Saturn and take a quick piss break and buy some Coca-Colaโ„ข on Earth before continuing on through the Jupiter Great Red Eye to space Tampa Bay in Orion's Belt.
