>Not using ball mice
Ball mice are the mechanical keyboard of computer mice. Much better build quality. Much more accurate and feel great to use. I would get one now since the prices are going up because they are not made anymore.

Not really, they're a direct downgrade with no actual benefit.

I used to replace the ball with a boiled egg that I had to replace every 3 days.
they found out within 2 weeks and that was one hell of a grounding. no ps2 for 2 years!

I love these things. Perfect for traveling or just being lazy at home since you can use it without any movement. People say they have problems with fine control when using it, but I've found if you use it enough you find tricks to make up for that. Like I use my index as a "break" for more precise control.

They do FEEL good to use in every day applications but they are bad for your aim in regards to flicking. So they don't feel good for FPS. Accuracy isn't any more true than optical. It's just slower. It might hold up next to a terrible laser sensor. In fact someone could probably give a technical answer to why ball mice aren't even accurate, but I'm not the person to make that argument. People gamed on these for quake out of necessity rather than what they could have achieved if the best optical mice were available.

nah, we millennials grew up with these shits, and this is nothing to be nostalgic about. optical was one of those rare times when something is just a straight up no-contest upgrade.

Microsoft released perfection with the intellimouse and I've been trying to find the equivalent in gamer mice equivalent ever since (mainly perfect shape, which as far I'm aware razer deathadder is closest). So i don't really want to go back to ball mice. I don't know if Microsoft's refresh in intellimouse got a better sensor like the ones found in most modern gaming mice. That was originally it's main problem, sensor was sub par. It's okay, got the job done but at the same time had tracking issues.

I don't find your comparison valid because vaccines cause autoimmune disorders by way of the adjuvants that allow them to do anything at all, whereas ball mice just use a track ball to accomplish what lasers do except less efficiently.

Fuck no they're awful and I'm glad laser Mice took over.
For you young fags you don't know how fucking noisy those things were, they were heavy, you had to roll the fucking ball over the mouse mat which in turn meant you had to move the mouse far more than you do with a laser mouse.
Then there's the dirt, grime and dust that collects between the ball and the underside of the mouse where there was a very small gap but just large enough to allow dust/ grime build up.
They were a fucking nightmare and I'm so glad they're gone.

They're trash compared to what we have these days and anyone who doesn't agree is just a contrarian zoomer who has never used it, or some dipshit collector trying to make the look expensive.
The ball's ass for detecting movement and can easily get dirty that will fuck up your mouse. Its prone to breaking just from small drops and the lock and the ball can get dislodged. Our school even immediately got those upgraded to digital mice when it had the chance to because of complaints from kids trying to eat the ball.
