Most of the XIV raid community at this point are just the rejects that couldn't cut it in WoW. Being able to cheat and parse on baby rotations allows them to feel like hot shots for once instead of the bottom feeders they were back in WoW. If class design rolled back to the way it was a few expansions ago they'd all be filtered.

Yeah, the biggest issue with Arcane Mage (I don't play it for transparency) is that a lot of it is deciding what to do when certain buffs + trinkets are up so it's got a flow to it that a guide can't really communicate.

We have simple rotations because the parse culture developed and parsetrannies don't actually care about video games at all, they only care about getting high scores. So they screamed and cried and smashed their dilators on Yoshida's car window and demanded that jobs be smoothed out so they basically play themselves so they can get good parses more easily. You should see the amount of parsetrannies currently who just completely lose their shit when they have to disengage from M7S's boss for one (1) GCD to handle a mechanic.
