all the stories are great, honestly people say it's edgy and it kind of is but it plays itself seriously the whole time and in just a couple minutes of barely-animated cutscenes that look like something out of Xavier Renegade Angel, you're in for a wild ride at least half the time. every driver and especially vehicle design is nearly flawless as both a standalone thing and part of the game's unified style, the weapons are meaty without being gimmicky, the maps are still huge, and the game is hard as hell but man is it fun once you get going

I really liked the race car from the psp game.
not because it was a chick but because it was an actual race car.
didnt even remember it was a chick post the character select screen.
also had the easiest super move of all, a giant unavoidable tornado. though the low health made things pretty hectic.

I always played this game with cheats. Playing normally took so fucking long to win levels, and the two bosses were pretty much impossible.

I want to like Twisted metal black, but all of the maps are DOGSHIT and uninteresting.
The cancelled sequel fixed that, and actually added some color and interesting set pieces to the map. If only that game actually came out, but all we got was a partially finished test demo

Small Brawl is the best one IMO, I still remember a good number of the secrets after all these years.
Also not to be a faggot but i remember it had a really creepy atmosphere a lot of the time when you weren't in the action. I remember getting the absolute piss scared out of me on the Funhouse level when i managed to get into the super small tunnel that the instakill map car drove through.

In TM4 my main was Orbital. I would sent a vortex, restrain the enemy and just shower him with missiles. Those were the days.

TM4 is really fun but its reputation has been tarnished by TM3.
That being said, TM3 is also kind of fun, but the pacing is the slowest of all the games and the characters and story are dogshit.

Singletrack made tm, after 2 they left to try to make other things but ended up make just more twisted metal games but without the name, they than went and made a new studio that was basically everyone from singletrack but under a different name, got back the ip and went n' made this edgetacular masterwork of car-combat and than went n make a better monster fighter than godzilla ever did.

I miss lost planet 2, it was so cool. The character customization was great, the character animations and the VSs were awesome, the game modes were unique, it was such a vibe. I only ever saw JP players on xbox back in the day.

TM3 is not a good game, but I appreciate what they were doing with the atmosphere of the levels and of course Rob zombie fit perfectly. TM4 is great for sure, but the endings were still pretty lame. I doubt Jaffe has actually played that one because he shits on it just because 989 studio's name is on it. Minion's Maze is such a cool level, same goes for most of the game honestly. I wasn't a huge fan of the all new cast though.
