it is the TV 100%, smart TVs are well known for this shit.
I tried playing sunshine last sunday and had, roughly, 0.5 seconds of input lag. This is enough of an issue to fuck up jumps or triple jumps.
I then go turn on game mode on the tv and it instantly disappears, and is basically instant response just as it is when playing handheld.

I dont even know why this is coming up, we have KNOWN dumb modern smart tvs add insane input lag for years, this is WHY they added 'game mode' on most of them to combat it.
The game itself is responding instantly, the tv is just taking forever to update visually because of all the effects its loading. Turn them off.

eh? is it though? Based on the guy above its hardly scientific.
Im playing games on it just fine, not had a single issue with an input being dropped or feeling delayed, no issues with precise timing. No issues hitting QTEs etc
I did pretty extensive testing playing in the games and id know if there were significant delays, because id literally fail input timings.

Its in your head. Its a made up issue, one that exists on any console if anything. Any wireless controller will have input delay, any TV or screen will have refresh delay, any CPU/GPU will have delay. Theres always over 100ms of delay in any game especially with wireless controllers. But the good news is no one is going to notice that short of a timeframe. and even if you can, its such a tiny window it doesnt matter in game.

im still hitting frame perfect inputs, so, skill issue on your part im guessing.

Wavebird adds 5.2ms but consider that the Gamecube only polls every 16.6ms then inputs have a 1/3 chance to arrive a frame late than if using a wired controller.
From video, at best the Switch 2 adds an entire frame of input lag which is expected since the Switch 1 had a lag tax of 1f in best case scenarios. 1f is obviously not lagless but not significant for most purposes, are people complaining it's worse than that? Keep in mind developers like Digital Eclipse have added over 100ms or even 200ms in some of their emulation collections which well over 6f and 12f respectively and most people would be right to consider that unplayable.

Where are people reporting 100ms?
>>713597367
16.6ms is 1 frame in a 60fps game. 100ms is noticeable and significant. Most people are turned off past 3f.

He's not wrong actually. Many games on old displays still had >2f input lag and today 4-6f is standard. Considering human reaction time is 16f in ideal settings https://ki.infil.net/reaction.html the issue is when ports and emulators add even 3f of lag in games that were already tight.

Yes this is specifically nso, nso gamecube has like 8 frames of input delay + some weird issue with the control stick mapping that isnt a deadzone. Though I'm not sure what kind of emulation the mario 3d collection uses if 64 is the same as the nso emulation its probably got the same input delay issues on top of being the shindou revision

ah, well ignore my prior posts
ive played the 3d collection, 64 felt fine enough to me, as did sunshine. Didnt play galaxy
There was a delay of about 0.5 seconds initially, but it was the tv, handheld and tv with settings of were fine

also the gamecube controller (new wireless one) had an issue with the left stick originally where you would go over the zone and the input would stop, so mario would stop walking forwards, but this was fixed by just going to the recalibration menu.
Seems they have a bad calibration out of the box.

the controller isn't the issue for the nso shit its some weird mapping issue that doesn't get fixed if you calibrate the controller its like theres a big portion of space after the deadzone that has your sensitivity cranked before going back to normal at the edges which makes the controller feel really wonky makes playing fzero gx basically impossible unless you tweak the settings in game and it doesn't completely fix it

this is clearly demonstrably wrong given the fact the switch sold incredibly well, long after the cough hysteria ended.
It was a genuinely good product that appealed to a lot of people.
>everything was true
not really
>has 3rd party
>is not 720p
>fair pricing for 2025 money
>controllers are fine
processor and battery are, sure, but then anyone thinking nintendo would invent a new magic battery that gives 8 hours of 1080p 60f/120ps games at the degree the switch 2 does graphically was retarded.
2 hours for mario kart is bad though yes
