I do think if they try anything they're gonna try to make it big with VR. I don't see them bothering without trying to make a leap like that. It's kinda almost pretty much there with the technology, but really lacking a killer app and a unified environment people can get shit from and it feels like an open table for Valve to walk up and plop their dick on with "Orange Box 3: That's Right Nigger We Straight Up Skipped 2", presumably while pushing some more affordable hardware and steam integration with as many other sets as they can.

we've known that they've been working on it and scrapping it repeatedly for years. the thing is, that's just how valve does things due to their internal structure. it doesn't mean the game will ever get made, and most likely, it won't.

Half life 3 has always been in development. I doubt there's been more then 2 years that a version of it wasn't being worked on
