Even AI jeets should probably be asking why the company’s wasting time and energy on generating new garbage textures instead of just using the same fucking ones they no doubt have for the other games the studio produces. Why don’t these companies have β€œbanks” of generic environment textures to reuse when needed? It’s likely because they’re getting benefits on the side for using some cryptobro’s latest AI model.

These guys have literally made dozens of golf games across multiple generations, even the character model in the screenshot is the same as it was in the switch version, they have an archive of all the tree and leaf textures a dev could ever ask for. No doubt what this is actually about is cost cutting, they probably lost a lot of staff and resources after getting dropped by Sony, you know this shit's on a shoestring budget when they need to skimp this much.

Retard. This is literally the type of shit AI is perfect for. Instead of using the same shitty texture cd album from the 90s now you can make unique realistic textures ez pz. It's not like anybody makes this from hand.

The Big Beautiful Bill contains 10 years of legal protections for AI. Absolutely stupid to contain that, not just because of the "wah you're stealing our work and replacing us" thing but becasue that means they're protecting malicious and unintended misinfo that will shape how people view issues and vote. It's damaging at every level, but this administration aims to protects billionaires more than other administrations, mostly due to the record number of billionaires on the presidential cabinet. What is the price? Also cost cutting through AI usage should be happening at a larger scale if that's truly the case. It's like how available technology can actually increase costs; what was once just a follow call for your doctor is now a "visit" with tele health which costs you out of pocket, lengthens the time of the call, and has them billing your insurance and also limits scheduling since you can only see one doctor a day.

Republicans already want small government, they're expected to be anti-regulation, pro-free market Reaganites.

All of that is to say is that there's a huge difference between Biden's cabinet that put restrictions on overdraft fees and Trump's second term billionaire cabinet that removed those restrictions on the first 100 days.

That's scary because it lays the groundwork for AI to be used to absolve the users from responsibility. The chain of command in corporations often exists to create layers of ignorance to shield leadership, having AI get info from "lol I dunno" means that as long as the copying and plagiarism is proved to be unintended, it can pass. That may be the way out, disclaiming that it's all plagiarism, it's all theft, means it can never be user commercially.

Why is AI art considered theft that steals from artists mouths by being fed examples of their work and then using their art style to create new work based on user prompts? I've seen people say the original artists should be compensated if their work is fed into AI for learning, but yet nobody seems to give a fuck about the mountains of fan art where people draw characters in the original creators same art style? yet nobody seems to give a fuck about doujin artists who do entire parody comics in the exact same art style as the original creators? yet nobody seems to give a fuck if I watch a free video on youtube where some person shows me how to perfectly copy some other artists style? why is it specifically only a problem when AI does it? Because computer software isn't a person.
I know a lot of AI niggers have this problem, because the chatbots got really good overnight and now they believe in magic and have suddenly stopped being able to distinguish between software and people.

Drawing fanart isn't considered copyright infringement, however, selling fanart can be considered copyright infringement. Copyright infringement is decided on a case-by-case basis. There are a lot of factors in place, context being one of them.

>Nobody gives a fuck about doujin artists
Different countries have different copyright laws.
Japan is a weird beast where you can totally ape someone's copyrighted work for a doujin, use AI generation in that work, and all that's kosher. But the moment you livestream a visual novel? Your ass is grass. Also, better not fuckin make a game where you summon a monster by throwing something.

The reason people care about AI doing it is because they've created a piece of software that just copy and pastes, but does so in a way that fools people that would get fooled by magic tricks.

The magician isn't actually floating.

It’s the idea that AI can’t create, it can only copy the work of others, and thus it’s akin to theft. In all the other examples while yes those are basically copying the same style, it has that human input with the creativity of someone else. Meanwhile ai only knows what input you use

That AI is good at it. That's it. AI can shit out a new finished image in literal seconds so in less than a day, you can generate more art in an artist's style than that artist has produced over their entire life.
Real people cannot do that. Some artists have cracked down on imitators, even when not tracing, but those people can be directly attacked and can still only produce so much art.
As much as these artists call AI
>soulless
or
>slop
the only reason it has such an outcry against it is because it's clear that people don't actually think that way and that AI will only get better.

Billionaires are in competition with each other, the government, and the workers and consumers as their wealth is more substantiated through profit made through shares than just extra money in the bank. They become billionaires by buying into, supporting, and controlling a system of removing value from those who work form them and buy from them and passing it on to investors and themselves. They are constantly threatened by people noticing how there's a point where more and more people lose and are worse off with that system and aim to protect it from that. The job of the aristocracy is to defend the existence of the aristocracy. They care about making more because billionaires are in the unique position to better influence and control politics to their benefit.

If I'm going to be fair the game is on golf course in a temperate climate. So a not insignificant amount of textures are leaves and trees. However, I can not bring myself to care even a little bit. My stance is the important elements should be done by hand. background elements and assets, that is the task we can offload to AI. The same people that whine and bitch about work life balance and treating workers humanely. Are also against the tools that will make that happen. So maybe part of that means having AI do leaf textures so they can have normal 40 hour work week instead the normal 60 in game development.

It's like how the value of water changes depending on the situation and context; even being a former billionaire comes with connections and assets to help you live better than middle class for the rest of your life as a worst case scenario. You're associating "dire" with money lost when there's a world of difference between a poor person losing $1,000 and a rich person losing $1,000.

Needing an unregulated technology so that technology improves is the anti-regulation logic. The internet being a method of sending child porn means that we have regulations on what can be sent through the internet. The internet and all that use it didn't end when we regulated this. Regulations can help it along and be more beneficial. For example, AI can phase out radiologist jobs. Sucks for the radiologists, but if the patient can get work done much cheaper, it's a net benefit. Improving access to health care is good, so why not put in protections: if you're going to use AI to cut radiologists out, you need to pass those savings on to the patient?

Even if you don't like that, shutting the door on these protections for 10 years is absolutely nonsense. There are better ways to regulate regulations.

How useless do you have be to need to use ai to make a repeating green texture? It doesn't help that the game uses a cartoon artstyle so a cartoon looking tree wouldn't look out of place.
It's a nothingburger, but also any controversy was easy to avoid.
