Video games are not art, they are toys. Ask yourself, genuinely, when has a game ever benefitted from dumb shit like paintings on a wall or the exact positioning of the clouds in a skybox? AI can and will easily replace this shit- will replace writers too while we're at it.

In the literal sense /v/ does also discuss art as a substitute for /ic/
Vidya benefits from small touches often enough though. It's what really fills out a game environment and possibly uses it for wordless storytelling.
As someone that uses chatbots regularly, I don't think it has much of a space to replace a real writer either, it doesn't have any real structure, purpose, or goal, and can go OOC easily, not to mention it just forgets details that happened too long ago. Needs a lot of handholding a human brain doesn't.

And none of that matters because video game stories are worthless. They're fluff for children to gawk at and ultimately hold no value.
Nobody will even notice when AI writers start getting used for video games.

A program that matches the closest thing it can interpret as a peg to the closest thing it can interpret as a hole, hopefully with compatible enough shapes. The only "novel" thing about it is a history of ratings of those matching attempts. Eventually the illusion becomes sufficiently convincing to fool smaller minds. Still, real minds. Which is ironic and sad.

I asked it literally to just read me a webpage with a guide to a puzzle stage in a shitty strategy game and it started making shit up on the spot after reading one page fine. Eventually it regressed to repeating the same thing 5 times in a list and repeated that when I asked it to start over. This was last week. Shit is fucking garbage.

All media takes inspiration from other media, movies take inspiration from other movies and books.
Their creation still requires creativity because using a few tropes doesn't mean that all the work of writing a story is done
Either way, they are far more creative than you.
There are games that have a unique take on specific settings, like dark souls which is a zombie apocalypse but in medieval times. Honestly movies are not very creative most of the time. They copy books and don't mix things up as much as Vidya.
Also, movies are childish. The people who watch them tend to be childish.

We are still at the stage where people understand that AI can be useful, but not exactly for what. So people try to do the same thing they did before, but with AI thrown in. It's like watching people pulling carriages with the first automobiles or some shit.
What will happen in the medium to long term is that people will discover new forms of entertainment thanks to AI. It won't be video games, it won't be movies, it will be a new medium that no one here knows about because it hasn't been invented/discovered yet. When this new medium is being consumed, we will see the first attempts to apply AI to video games and we will laugh at how retarded it was.

It's a zombie apocalypse in a medieval fantasy setting which is fairly unique.
There's not that much other media like it.
>Army of darkness
I just skimmed the plot and it doesn't seem like a post apocalyptic story
The main character also isn't a zombie.
It just happens to have undead in a medieval time frame
Honestly what movies have unique settings? I can't think of any

I think we'll just hit a point where AI replaces all safe slop and the only human-made stuff that gets an audience or can feasibly be a career will be the weirder stuff.
Basically all western media will be AI since it's almost all corporate/government owned, as will pretty much all Chinese media.
The only other stuff will be smaller Japanese and other Asian media created using money made off of otaku (largely through gacha), kind of like what we already see companies like Cygames and Shift Up and (to a much less successful degree) Yostar do.

no you don't understand, it's stuff like cutting off a character's arms and legs, melting the stumps with fire, and then drilling bone screws into her nerves. Then stuffing an impossible insertion in that goes through and comes out her navel, encasing her in resin with a mouth to ass tube, and sending her into a radioactive waste dumping trench with a jackhammer attached to her asshole
And then she escapes totally fine without a scratch on her
AI can't take Zuru's niche because it's both disgusting and autistic to a point where it's just not possible for the AI to duplicate

Art is in the eye of the beholder
Bad art is still art
Commercial art is still art
If I decide a lump of shit is art, literally no one has to agree with me
I might think some pilled-out mumble rapper is a waste of oxygen, but they unfortunately make art

He's not consistent enough for that. His recent thing is a different character being hung by her bones and put into extreme temperatures
Shit would just be a mess and would basically lack what makes his work, well, his work. Too much nonstandard unrealistic anatomy, impossible torture methods, niche stuff you can't really discern without specific detail, etc.
At best it would make similar faces and bodies if presented the full body Yuna pictures but nothing actually like his doujins to the degree he goes to.
It's just too autistic and messy sometimes.

I do not defend the bad use of tools which have no inherent goodness or badness. It is always the ones that use the tools who are or aren't bad. And if they are bad, them switching to a different tool or method doesn't change that fact, but just makes it more obvious, which actually is a good thing.

I recently started playing Lunar Remastered. The "Remastered" version is all AI upscale, the sprites, the text, the animation cutscenes. It all looks like fuckin ass. It's terrible and soulless. Thank god they included a classic option.

I'm not sure who actually believed that AI would be used for anything but making things shittier and cheaper except the genuine addicts who spend all day genning porn for other third worlders.
