When did you age out of Nintendo?

I loved my Nintendo DS and Gamecube back in the day but I got a Switch 1 and it's just not the same.

Right around Mario Odyssey's release I want to say. That was the last modern Nintendo game I thoroughly enjoyed and actually beat. Sure I bought a few after that, but none of them particularly clicked for me.

Normally I'd agree with you but most of modern Nintendo is genuine baby shit, like stuff you'd hand to a toddler instead of entertainment for all ages. :p

Ah yes, because I want my theoretical young child to play Manhunt or see the torture scene in GTA V. But it doesn't matter, they're all just toys for children, right?

Odyssey was the last decent Nintendo game I played. Seeing people praise dogshit like fire emblem and xenoblade and all the awful hollow sequels like Luigi mansion and pikmkn that arent even 1% as good as the originals made me realize this company is just as shitty as every other console now, if not far worse because of the rabid fanbase baggage attached to it. There are a plethora of far better titles on PC. No point in buying a console for 1 game which gets worse and worse compared to the last "1 game". Even as a port machine, even the most basic of things run like shit and on a hardware level it's unergonomic and has massive input delay, so every single title feels like a massive downgrade.

And another thing, seeing people doggedly praise shit like metroid prime iterarion 37 when it's just halo rebranded on another console is just deeply dissapointing. /v/ is all boring normalfags now.

I stopped buying their consoles after the Wii and 3DS. That was when I was smacked in the head with how fucking lame and shit motion controls were and how gimmicks were not an enjoyable way for me to play games. The 3DS had some good games on it, but I was starting to get tired of handheld games. I'm still fond of the N64 and Gamecube (and a little bit of the NES and SNES too), but I just don't care to own any of their consoles or games these days.

But it's also hard to say I grew out of it entirely. I still emulate their games, even the new Switch stuff. I've admittedly enjoyed multiple Switch games. As for their hardware though, I don't feel the need to ever get it. But I also feel the same with other consoles too, they're just not important to me or worthwhile anymore.

Yup, along with Iwata. People who have nostalgia over the terrible Iwata era need to be culled. Not even joking.

Age 8, I was playing Pokemon Emerald on my older brother's GBA until he showed me his PC and taught me how to play Command and Conquer

It makes sense when you realise Nintendo operates by Disney rules, their diehard fans are the same as Disney adults.

When I played BOTW and realized that the next "revolutionary 10/10 Nintendo game" was just a decent 7/10 Open World game with some neat ideas. I'm enough of a boomer to have experienced Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time on release; and they were legit mindblowing revolutionary games. Literally pushing the medium forward. Modern Nintendo games are just "fine", and I'm not gonna put up with their draconian bullshit just to play "fine" games.

I haven't touched a Nintendo console since the 3DS, and the latest Nintendo game I ever played was Pokemon Sun & Moon. That was back then I was like, 12 and there was no way I was gonna convince my parent to get me the then-brand new Switch. Even today I just... don't care for it at all anymore, then though I'm still a big fan of Pokemon to this day.
