3 of those are pop-ups and don't stay for too long. The middle of the screen is usually clear if those pop-ups don't appear so it's playable.
You can also disable to other players' health bars on the right and the buff timers beside your health bar. The worst thing about Warframe's visibility isn't even in that screenshot which is dmg numbers. They completely cover whatever you are shooting at or pummeling, but thankfully you can disable that too.

just be a superior human with good eyes. Kinda hard to take you seriously when you try to make your inability to follow objects on screen as some kind of boon

I just recently set the transparency for dmg numbers to like 35%. I really don't get how anyone would want to play with them set to full visibility but I see it in video all the time

From 2015 until last year I played with them at 100%, it just didn't bother me until it did for some reason. Most people like seeing 8 billion red crits and their monkey brain can't let go of it.

Am I the only one who hates floating damage numbers?

Considering they are in almost every game these days, I'm afraid we are in the minority brother.

It sure feels like it.

Unless the game is explicitly designed to be non-crunchy, then you should be clear on what numbers are involved. Combat log is one option, but floating damage can be convenient so long as it doesn't get spammy. Basically, functionality allowed by MSBT addon for WoW (heavily configurable, which means you could also use it to multiply eye cancer) is how you'd want it to work, consolidating e.g. area of effect damage or multiple targets suffering from damage over time effects to to "11k [11 hits]" or abilities with multiple damage effects to "10k [3 hits]", filtering irrelevant sources entirely (you'd do this manually in the addon, but in the absence of configurability, defaults should be sound), ability icons to make it clear which effect is doing how much damage, color-coding of damage types, having specific floating text areas configured so they're not quite at the most important part of the screen, etc.

To CDPR's credit, they included a minimalist HUD option in the stock game and it's actually reallly good. You still have the fucking quest markers (why?), but that's about it. Of all games, BotW actually has the perfect minimalist HUD, again as stock. Never would have guessed Nintendo actually knows what's up.

It simply feels lazy.
If damage number were not there in many games you would have no idea if you did any damage.
In FPS or TPS games this is cardinal sin.
You should get some feedback, but instead it often feels like chipping rocks with a wooden spoon.
Fighting enemies should be fun.
Damage numbers can be fine but when I see korean MMO flood of numbers on my screen I want to get out.
