5000 game modes. double jump. 64 players. vehicles if u want them. each weapon has an alt fire. 2000k maps. unliminted amount of mutators and mods downloaded on server join. truly the greatest multiplayer fps ever made.

Unreal has a very strong introduction with the ship and then stepping outside on planet part, but the later levels feel very archaic and simplistic.
HL level design quality stay pretty much the same until Xen, but even that has some cool new concepts liek the longjump.

Usually you can spot the difference between real 3d skybox mountains and the 2d billboards by the transparency artifacts, or by recognizing them by the individual textures (which I happened to have been looking at last night in the skybox texture folder).

It's a bit hard to tell for that exact screenshot, though the game does use billboards for the skybox mountains numerous times.

Games such as World at War and Black Ops have objectively good production value compared to their contemporaries, their nature as game movies has great mass market appeal. Call of Duty was basically the Michael Bay summer blockbusters among video games. You can still enjoy some of it even if it is junk food, if only once.

the best cod campaigns (WaW and Blops 1) are all just alright. 5 out of 10's if you will. Blops tries to do a lot with its story but it's not that cohesive and shoots itself in the foot at points. Still some very cool sequences like Vorkuta though
WaW is pretty okay throughout with the only real highlights being the Russian storyline and the only standout of that being that its dark and gritty and had some balls showing war crimes n whatnot.

no i dislike it because it's boring and becomes a slog. Yeah theres a big threeway fight but the presentation for it isn't there and im walking through the same bland corridors i've been through. Every level afterwards reuses environments and it really sucks the wonder out of the halo ring when im seeing things I saw a few hours ago. The only real part that's interesting is going to get Keyes after he starts turning into the gravemind but its still just the same area as The Truth and Reconciliation

Something that bothers me about the (you)s here is the wrong implications. That the issue with COD is that it's for kids/babies. Yet if I said I played Super Mario World, Final Fantasy 5, Pro Skater 2, all of a sudden that's fine. Is Mega Man X a shit game because it's main demographic was kids?
