The main character is really mentally unstable, and everyone around him aren't too great either, but there's no gender or sexuality nonsense.
Sunny is straight, and despite him being very suspect, there's no indication that Basil is actually gay.
There's no troon shit, just one room in one level where you can take a potion to swap the gender of your sprite for a bit, as a holdover from when you were able to choose between male or female in the development stage.

It is made by a shotacon, and the manga is made by a shotacon that specializes in toxic yaoi.
So again while there's nothing concrete, it's kinda baked into it's genetics.

Combat is boring once you learn the meta, exp rate is intentionally designed so you can't overgrind without wasting hours for what you could get in like minutes in the next area. Once you quit leveling just move on and learn how to play tactically. Type of game you play for the story like OneShot, don't expect too exciting gameplay. With that said the story is well written and the art/music is great. A game worth playing though you might only ever play once, maybe more if you want to see all of the endings but after that you likely will never touch again so maybe pirate if you aren't willing to buy a once-and-be-done type of game.

Simple but fun combat system, based off a Rock-Paper-Scissors system of Emotions, that mostly serves to communicate and reinforce characterization.
The entire game is amazingly detailed, almost everything is deliberately placed and hand crafted.
I compare it to a mosaic hidden under sand, nothing is really deep, but there's so much hidden just under the surface.

But I was kinda hesitant since I wasn't sure if it was actually decent or not. Cute boys can only carry a piece of media so far for me and if something's crap then no amount of them can save it.
