Does this game have a good story by Final Fantasy standards? I haven't played it but i heard they cut a lot of content and that the director changed at the last minute

no, even the gameplay is polarizing. I like 11 so I also liked the combat in 12 and I think the gambit system is a really good idea for computer ai in RPGs.

build up powerbase, eliminate all dangerous politicians and possible usurpers, win over the people, lead country to its most prosperous period yet, only real difference is the occuria were real while jupiter, mars and apollo aren't

It had an actual interesting world instead of a few random silly villages and towns like FFs before X... Then does fucking nothing with it

It's fine. I'd call it squarely middle of the road by the standards set by other games the franchise. It's one of my favorite FFs because of the world and gameplay though.

If you can handle everybody being the hero of their own story, it is one of the best games in the series and one of the best RtwP combats.
