AI has no benefit on art. The only reason why people clamor for it is laziness and greed. It's no coincidence that the spiteful social rejects of 4chan are the ones most likely to have an AI shill amidst them.
Unlike some other AI haters, I don't subscribe to the idea that AI is not gonna make it and that it's just a fad. I can see a bleak future where AI dominates the vidya industry, resulting in unimaginable levels of sloppification.
All I can say is that I won't pay even one cent for AI slop ever. I may be an ant in the grand scheme of things, but at the very least I will be satisfied that if vidya turns into a supernova of slop, I won't have been even 0.0000000001% responsible. Hope my fellow anti-AI bros have the same determination and that in a potential dark future that awaits us, there will still be a niche market that supports real games.
Should the worst come to pass and AI kill the very idea of human made gaming due to its insane levels of efficiency and "quality", then in that post-vidya world, I'll join the proompter hordes and make my own games for myself and myself alone. Proompters are talentless idea guys. I have ideas too. Their "art" is exactly as worthless as mine.

What worries me most is that there seem to be a lot of gimmicks interfering with gameplay. Even if you play the traditional game mode, they've added something about your relationship with the caddy giving you bonuses. There was nothing like that in the version I played (World Invitational).
I fear that it will be another golf game that goes wrong, which seems to be becoming common in the genre. Someone has put a curse on all golf games.

Why not just copy-paste trees and grass from the PS4 game if they are going to be lazy?

I am not really a big fan of AI in games but I think disclosures like this are a very good compromises. If it's for basic textures for some plants that's fine I don't care that much about that. If it's 1% of your game it's whatever, if it's like 50% fuck your slop
