>>713656059 Coropata's presentation is fucking amazing but actually playing it like dragging your balls against broken glass. The game has no actual physics and instead everything is set to an invisible grid, meaning solving levels quickly becomes a pixel hunt where you have to place objects in extremely specific positions. I got to like level 25 out of 125 and I wanted to blow my brains when every other level would take hours to """solve""".
>>713655213 (OP) >MP4/WEBMs Why? That's stupid. I have so many webms from lesser known games that can fit this thread you're such a retarded nigger, OP.
>>713670916 Pretty soldier wars, the combat is simple, it's just positioning, cycling units and managing the HUGE herds of enemies they throw at you, no abilities or leveling up, but it somehow clicked with me so much, it's extremely challenging and I had to finish it. I hope you like girls getting raped by aliens, you can also romance the soldier girls in your team.
>>713661948 Gravity Bone. Played it because it reminded me of Jazzpunk, and the dev's other games too, Thirty Flights of Loving and Quadrilateral Cowboy.
>>713684632 For its age, yeah. Its hard to give it a rating for younger people. It was made in a time when even the most basic, standard things today weren't standard at all. Like having a universal quick action/contextual action button. The art and animation for an 80s game are fantastic though. And its got good depth.
>>713685208 Oh please. That's Hungry Ghosts. I can't imagine the kind of autist you'd have to be to bother with getting the good end in that. You'd need to note down every single item in every location while avoiding all unnecessary enemy encounters to keep your violence and greed karma levels low. It's best as a single playthrough game.
>>713656936 Whoever made it is kind of a hack and nobody would bother if not for the art. It's not even a new game concept and yet it's the worst variation of it I've ever played going all the way back to browser based flash games. The dev entirely does not understand how to design stages.

>>713664138 I've been looking for this for a while. Its tied to a childhood memory of my dad refusing to give me money for metal slug at the laser tag arcade because he knew i would die in seconds and ask for more.
A few hours later after we got home he comes into my room with a burned CD and he teaches me how to extract the files
Its an arcade cabinet emulator with over 6000 roms including every metal slug and this which me and my brother played for like 3 whole days then forgot about it
>>713693838 He's also got the entire n64 library and an old version of PJ64 before they added malware to it burned over 3 or 4 CDs somewhere. Half the roms don't work but the classics all do like SM64, OOT, MM and all the turoks

Now let's see someone figures out mine, keep in mind mine goes under multiple names because that's how some games were back then.
I've only ever played the SNES one, I loved it so much but the SNES version specifically has one of the cheapest and most pointless deaths in gaming bar none which I believe was handled differently on the PC Engine.
>>713693594 Napple Tale, Dreamcast. Sadly every time I burn a disc of the translation it freezes on me, I can burn all other games just fine but not this one :( so I have yet to play it because I refuse to play on an emulator.

I was so disappointed this ended up being another Power Stone style nonsense dammit, the DC had so many of these arena games and I just wanted it to be an action/platformer.
Maybe it's a good game I don't know, I never could get into it because the art and style promise one thing and it ends up being yet another arena brawler or whatever they're called.
So is OP an idiot? I know reverse image search doesn't work with everything but OP could have at least used something that beats it for his starting pic.

>>713708929 You can get Mona Mona right now on DLSite and it runs fine-ish (it's a jank implementation where the game is a window running inside of a window). I'm not sure what GOG could add unless they're willing to shell out for a translation
>>713693497 I don't know what you mean by that, I thought it was good and playable. My only issue was that the higher level version of quests were kind of bullshit and not good for solo but I still had fun with it.
>>713711574 >I'm not sure what GOG could add unless they're willing to shell out for a translation I'm trying to rally all the weebs across the web to vote for as many unlocalized games as possible so that maybe GOG sets up some pipeline shit to get a bunch of old gems localized. Like I said, I know it's a hail mary, but GOG claims to be all about preservation and literally the point of dreamlist is hail marys. Most of the games I want have votes in the dozens and hundreds though, it would probably require several dozen games in these niches to have tens of thousands of votes each to get their attention.

>>713721250 I just being overdramatic. It just that they use some things to sound more traditional/medieval like Watakushi and mase, it's not difficult but it's strange. I remember that the wizard speaks in a way that I don't really understand. The rest of the characters speak normally from what I remember.
>>713686760 Scurge: Hive. I liked it but it really could've used better level design, non-linear maps and giving you the double jump early so platforming was more fun.
>>713726835 Xak Gaiden? I'm the only one in the world who played that. (this is the part where the conversation doesn't continue and I have to suffer the pangs of loneliness)
>>713727784 Neon Struct. Unfortunately did poorly on release due to visuals and high price(although it's only $1.79 on sale rn), but it's just the perfect stealth game for me. The levels are quite huge, and they alternate between stealth levels and chill hub areas There's no nonsense gimmicks, it's just really solid sneaking gameplay. Ost is amazing too.
>>713693497 Are you a shitter or a completionist? You can get through like 95% of the game with zero grinding. The issue is the final optional 5% post-post-game which requires unfathomably excessive grinding.
>>713731598 >slop I can't take anybody that uses this word seriously. I don't even remember the last time I've looked at a review for any game that interests me.
>>713732170 If you enjoy that kind of game I'd highly recommend it. All the characters feel distinctly different and they're all viable, though it was clearly balanced with multiplayer in mind because one character in particular falls behind in solo play but can be a godsend in co-op and another is under a lot of pressure in solo play against aggressive enemies. >>713732154 >reviews I haven't looked at the reviews since I played it but at the time a bulk of the negative reviews said exactly what I did; the final stretch of optional post-post-game content is extremely grindy.
>>713732730 You're not forced into co-op if that's what you're thinking. It is by default a single player experience with a storyline that you can choose to do with others.

Recettear's Western steam release ended up being very successful(it was the anime game that broke the barrier and opened the floodgates for anime games on steam) and prompted Carpe Fulgur to translate the other two games as well but neither of them had anywhere near the same level of success. Enough for the projects to be worthwhile but that's about it.

>>713758584 Nah I can't understand a lick of Japanese. I told myself I'd sit down and transcribe/translate the menus and tutorials sometime but I never got around to it. In the first place I had gotten it to pick apart its mechanics (an automatic RTS that isn't just lane-based is an interesting concept) however the mechanics weren't quite how I expected and I felt the ability to pause limited some potential.
