This is what I dislike about Kojimbo. Sure it might have been cool for one or two characters, but the entire thing being celebrities is lame. The worst part is this trend constantly becoming more and more normalized and spreading within the industry. I bet voice actors will start crying about this shit as well and demanding their face being part of the deal.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
i really just appreciate being old enough to have played MGS2 on release as a teenager and been able to appreciate the height of Kojima (and his ghost writers') writing
didn't play the new one but Death Stranding 1 was fucking boring. it's gameplay for people whose minds are going at quarter speed because they took the "be a dad" meme and have no time for anything intensive or interesting
