In the end it's a hobby, not a job. You are probably missing out on some good games but there's little point in forcing yourself to play something that you're not in the mood for.
That said you should at least still try to make the leap into actually trying out something new.

so clear it out
what I did was
1. delete and/or hide the games you KNOW you will never get to or even enjoy. Impulse buys and games you regret buying.
2. download all the games you're on the fence about and play them for an hour or two, make sure you'll really want to actually play them at some point, a lot of them probably wont
I got rid of like half my backlog by doing this
Did I waste a bunch of money on all that garbage, yes, but its spilled milk.
Now you can pick from the games you know are actually worth playing

Sort your actual life out and stop putting off personal projects and you will immediately want to cross off unplayed videogames again. We seek novelty, we cope with familiarity.
