this shit happens. players find exploits and devs get salty that people appear to be smarter than they are. so they patch the exploit after it is found. usually they don't ban players, but it has been known to happen. some games don't patch it (because the patch would break too much of the design and/or code) and just make it an illegal action that could get you perma'd if you perform it.
