The concept of this nigger was good but then, like all things, the internet spammed him and all the gay little youtube ARGs about him and animations and shitty games and it just stopped being cool, it got boring really fast. Little did we know, it was a sign of things to come. Now EVERYTHING is like what happened to slenderman. We have meme images of the week, monthly retarded lingo kids spam ad nauseum, everything is just disposable memes and content forgotten within a week or less. Slenderman was the same but for all things horror on the internet.

The first couple dozen marble hornets videos were really special because it was basically the only time in history where the found footage format was actually technically possible. Literally the only assurance you had that they weren't just straight up real, is that you didn't believe it was possible it could be. There was no obvious circumstantial evidence to explain what the project was, if not genuine.
