Unlimited was interesting because of the subversion of a romcom protag guy meeting alternative versions of all his cutesy friends suddenly being surrounded by horror and having to try to become a warrior and survive.
Alternative was interesting because the same guy was now time looping knowing everyone is going to die and trying to change the future and save his waifu.
The universe itself is basically another generic mech/monster world. It's okay as a general setting but not interesting enough on its own to justify a story focused on its native inhabitants or the war.
Yeah there are soldiers fighting a war in mechs and some/all will die, seen it before in a ton of other series.
