I remember coming across this article, probably after Googling why the fuck it's like this, and it permanently lowered my opinion of Nintendo. The article lives rent free in my head. I still bought Switch 1 games after reading it, but this interview is one of the biggest reasons I'm hesitant with anything Nintendo now, and still don't have a Switch 2. It's already happening in MK.
I remember how hard it was one day for me and a friend to actually find time to play this mode, only to get cockblocked. It also pushed me more to the reality that this is a company for children and it's a children's game meant to play after finishing your homework instead of adults where the last thing they want in their lives is an obstacle that completely disables the only co-op mode there is just because Nintendo feels like it.
I get having certain gaming events be timed like Splatfests and such, but this is specifically a mode that would disappoint a minimum of two people if it's unavailable.
