that's half the problem, you want to get into a comic, you look up where to start and then you run into arguments over which run is the best for beginners and then which order you should go in and what issues are actually part of some event that has little baring on the storyline and between which issues you have to read some other books because the character you're reading appeared in other books and it's important
with manga you ask and you get told to pick up volume 1 and read it, then volume 2 and so on
