It really depends on what personally appealed to you the most from the vanilla game. Downpour is much more game-y, and doesn't show restraint when it really should. e.g. everything about Spearmaster's story and its excessive dialouge. But Downpour existing doesn't ruin the experience I had with Survivor and Hunter.
The Saint, however, I think is a genuinely great story that works well with the base game. The temperature mechanic is a good spin on the rain cycles, and the point of its journey, and what you end up doing is pretty poignant. Even if the "dev intended" meaning of his stories' ending fucking sucks, and ruins it.
