A Steam Deck is not a standalone console. It is a $400+ accessory to a proper gaming PC to give you a crossplatform handheld experience. If a game doesn't run on the Deck you're supposed to play it on your PC. The whole point is that they both use your Steam library so all your games and services are available on both devices. A Switch 2 tries to do everything at once on its own. You're going to get a worse experience with more demanding games with no way to access them on a stronger machine that can run them properly. Outside of Nintendo exclusives, it's much better to get your games on Steam.

I built a PC to play my PC games.
I bought a Switch 2 to play my Nintendo games.

Now try and render videos or write anything longer than a code snippet on the Deck. I love using mine as a backlog machine, but the "it's just a desktop PC" argument is retarded as a real comparison of utility. Its PC capabilities help keep it relevant as a versatile device, but it does NOT fall into any of the usecases you'd use a real PC for.

It's why I never understood why people spent $800+ on these handheld PCs that are going to perform worse than even an equivalent gaming laptop.
