The problem is, Java can't be ported to consoles. To port to consoles they would have had to remake the game at some point, just like Minecraft with Bedrock Edition, so they decided to do it before release so there wouldn't be two versions of the game. It makes sense, it's just too bad that the decision ended up ruining them.

SevTech really gives that sense of progression most packs lack, and the gating through research and tech levels actually makes you feel like you're building toward something instead of just rushing full automation in 2 hours. Only downside is it gets kinda grindy mid-to-late game, but it's still one of the few packs that makes vanilla progression feel meaningful again.

The whole point of Java is that Java programs are encapsulated within a Java virtual machine, so a computer only needs to run the Java VM and then it can [idealy] run all Java programs.
So Minecraft Java doesn't need to be ported to a console, a console just needs to be able to run Java and then it can run Minecraft.

This is one thing that is really appealing about Java to me, is that it's quicker and cheaper to develop a program that runs on multiple devices
