I got to the beginning of Act 2 then just stopped. It's kind of fun and interesting but the picto lumen system, 5 different playstyles, different builds, all feel pointless when the entire gameplay boils down to "get 1-2 shot by every new enemy type for a couple fights" then steamroll the rest of them" the lantern boss at the end of act1 burnt me out.

Going to try and avoid spoilers, but should I keep playing this game? I just got to the big halfway point twist that I’d already spoiled myself on. I’m having deja vu from Lost Odyssey because I dropped that game when you unlock a boat, and I kinda wanna quit this game too. I will keep playing, but it is not that fun. The combat was fun at first but now it feels stale. Exploration was never fun.

Why is everyone saying this game is so great? It just seems like a standard JRPG to me. The music is the best part. The eye movements are very realistic too, but who gives a shit about that?

I don’t even like RPGs, but everyone was calling this GOTY so i had to try it. It was the same story with Baldur’s Gate. Didn’t like that game either.

Well, he and Renoir are both right in that trying to cope by living in a fantasy world will, in this case, kill both Aline and Alicia. Allowing Aline to start the grieving process is the only way forward and while it makes sense that she wont start as long as something from Verso remains, his approach IS radical, especially seen through the eyes of Maelle. I think the key might be verso's soul that's arguably trapped inside the canvas and if he's the one thing holding up most other things in the canvas, I wouldn't consider it genocide, but still kinda fucked up.
It's the one aspect that I wish had gotten more attention and when Lune and Sciel reappeared after the gommage, it would have been nice to explore that topic with them, but maybe they didn't want to open that box, who knows.
